Repurposing Corporate Meeting Content into Sales Collateral Part 1: The Power of Storytelling

By Sarah Spicer, Content Producer

Corporate meetings and events are not just about conveying information but creating memorable experiences that resonate with attendees long after the event ends. Today’s event planners are compelled by their marketing counterparts to maximize value by creating content that can be repurposed into a variety of different media; podcasts, email marketing content, videos, case studies, articles, and social media content. It’s a big lift.

In today’s fast-paced, content-saturated world, capturing audience attention is elusive and challenging. Most of us agree we must hook them with something entertaining and then hit them with information. This is where storytelling comes in.

Storytelling improves one's ability to recall details by creating an emotional connection to the content. A Stanford study showed that stories are remembered up to 22 times more than facts alone. (Source: Stanford.)
By weaving narratives that align with your corporate message, you can turn abstract concepts into tangible, memorable experiences.

With the RedHawt Creative team, we recently took a page out of Hollywood’s book to demonstrate the power of storytelling. For a global technology presentation, we created an "Oceans 14" storyline to showcase multiple pieces of complex technology. After a staged power outage, the CEO and team, utilizing their advanced technologies, tracked a fictional getaway car, demonstrating their product's capabilities in a fun and engaging way. Click here to read the whole case study.

Through our compelling narrative, multimedia presentation, and incorporated characters, the audience was not only entertained but also educated on how all the different pieces of technology worked. And let's be honest, the George Clooney look alike certainly helped drive it all home.

Directly following the event, excited salespeople talked about sending the presentation to their customers because now the technology was understandable and relatable. They were enthused to tell the story of the event and show their prospects the visuals to explain the technology. As anyone in business knows, an enthusiastic sales team is a complete win.

Join us next week when we share ideas to turn your presentation into compelling sales collateral.
